Visit to Santa

We took Caroline to visit Santa a couple of weeks ago. She had a great time playing with the other children while waiting in line.

However when it was finally our turn, Caroline wanted to have nothing to do with the big guy. We even tried to bribe her with a candy cane and if you know me, you'll know that I do not let her have sugar! This in fact would be the FIRST piece of candy she's ever had! As I was saying, at this point Caroline is getting pretty hysterical so I turn to the helper lady to ask her what to do. She says, "Santa will hold her crying." That's it - that's what we needed to hear... click!

Yeah, we were feeling like pretty lousy parents for handing over our crying child to the man in red, but several other parents assured us that they did the same thing with their small children too. Oh well, guess we'll have something to tease her about when she's older!
