This weekend we took a trip to the North Carolina mountains with our Sunday School class. Our church owns a lodge near the Ridgecrest Conference Center that we are able to use to "get away" from the city. This is the second year in a row we've gone and had a wonderful time of fellowship with other couples. Even though it wasn't really cold, those of us without a fireplace in their homes insisted upon building a fire. I think we ended up getting more smoke in the community room than up the chimney! Needless to say, that was the only fire we had that weekend.
The group went hiking on Saturday morning. The leaves were so vibrant with beautiful yellows and reds. I'm so glad it's been warm recently so the colors stayed longer for us to see! That after noon, the group ventured in the city of Black Mountain for lunch, football, and some antique shopping.
All in all, it was a great weekend.
