Our condo is being fixed!

Yippee! 2 months to the day - our condo is finally being fixed! (We knew not to believe them when they said all would be put back together in 30 days from the day of the fire/flood.) It's supposed to take 10 days before we can get back in there. Jonathan, Caroline and I headed to Griffin to visit with Bibi and Baba while the workers do their work.

On Tuesday, the movers came in and completely moved everything out of the condo. They're having to rip out all the hardwood floors and replace with new. They'll fix the drywall in the areas where they cut holes in the ceiling and walls and repaint all the walls and ceiling. In the bedroom, which didn't get really any water, they'll restretch and clean the carpet (because of this, they had to move out all the bedroom furniture too).

Once they're all finished with the reconstruction, they're supposed to clean and then move us back in. However, their definition of "move us back in" is putting the boxes labeled "living room" in the living room - not actually unpacking the items and putting them back on the shelves. Oh well. A friend of ours put it this way, "It's like moving without the benefit of going somewhere new." Yeeeaaaaah... Great. So we'll have to spend a day or so actually unpacking the boxes and putting all our stuff back in its place. I'll just be happy to be back in our place with actual floors and be able to walk around without shoes on at all times!

Emily,
I'm so GLAD that your condo is finally being fixed! It was great to see you a few weeks ago. You and Caroline are looking great! I hate that Sarah Ellyn and Caroline won't be able to see each other every Sunday, but I'd love to keep in touch with you guys. Our last Sunday at Second Ponce will be Nov 2 so we'll look for you guys! Have fun in Griffin!
