Christmas Tree Hunt

Every year since I can remember, in my family it's always been a big deal to go Christmas tree shopping. It used to be this whole event that takes place where we'd go from tree lot to tree lot, selecting our favorite tree at each location then go to Krispy Kreme to have some donuts and hot chocolate and discuss the qualities of each tree, then go make our purchase. Ok so maybe it didn't always work in this order, but there was always the "tree hunt" and donuts/hot chocolate.

Since I've moved to Atlanta, Jonathan has been a good sport about continuing the tradition. However there are no Krispy Kreme's near us so we have to settle for Dunkin Donuts. Near where we live there is this one Christmas tree lot that has the biggest trees I've ever seen and price tags to go along with them. Our game lately has been to pick which is the biggest and most expensive tree on the lot. You'd be surprised how much they go for - unreal! In the years that we actually have gotten a tree, we look at the big ones, the go across the street to Home Depot and get a cheapy one. This year, like the last few, we decided to get a wreath instead of a tree. Mostly because we're gone for the two weeks surrounding Christmas and our families have trees we'll get to enjoy.

Not to break tradition, we bundled up Miss Caroline to go on her very first Christmas Tree Hunt.
She seemed to like it!

Caroline made it all the way through donuts and hot chocolate!

Here's Jonathan enjoying his powdery donut...yummy!
